Given the following formula, solve for m.
y=mx+b

A.m=x(y-b)
B.m= y-b/x
C.m= x(y+b)
D.m= y+b/x

y = mx + b

You need to isolate m.

1. Bring b to the other side by subtracting it from both sides

y - b = mx

2. Divide out x to isolate m on the right

(y - b)/x = m

You answer is B. m = y - b / x
